Dumped Rubbish

In 2016 one sixth or £16,000 of the Estate service charge was spent removing rubbish. This cost is paid for by the owners, some of which may increase their tenant's rent as a result. If you dump rubbish around the estate ultimately you end up paying to remove it.

Houses have their own bins collected weekly or fortnightly by the council. Residents of houses should not be using the bin stores in the blocks of flats.

Flats have bin stores where domestic refuse should be bagged and placed INSIDE the wheeled bins. The bin store doors should be kept closed and locked. If you do not have a key please contact the managing agent, Jennings & Barrett.

Larger items of waste such as furniture will not be taken by the refuse collection teams and therefore you have to pay extra for additional "fly tipping" collections which have to be carried out on a weekly basis. If you have seen someone dumping waste or you are having difficulty in storing or disposing of your waste, contact the Council on 020 8303 7777.

Bexley residents can use the Thames Road Recycling Centre free of charge to dispose of larger items. Please see the link below for the location.
